Landmark events, landmark screens. Here's what we've built — and the crowds we've moved.
Soweto Equestrian Centre
Our first major screening of 2026. Couples and friends gathered for a romantic evening under the stars at Soweto Equestrian Centre — bean bags, ambient lighting, curated food vendors, and a film experience that felt personal.
Soweto Equestrian Centre
Closing out 2025 in signature OMN style — a festive year-end celebration under the stars. Great food, great people, and a crowd ready to toast another unforgettable year of outdoor cinema.
in partnership with Black Birth
Our biggest event to date. OMN delivered a turnkey large-screen outdoor cinema experience at the iconic Back to the City Festival — a landmark urban culture event in Johannesburg. Three sessions across the event weekend pulled in 800–1,400 attendees per sitting.
Soweto Equestrian Centre
A mid-year edition of our flagship community cinema night. Perfect weather, great vibes, and another memorable evening of outdoor cinema at the Soweto Equestrian Centre — proof that the community keeps showing up.
Food meets film
The ultimate fusion of food culture and outdoor cinema. OMN brought together Joburg's best street food vendors and a massive screen for a night celebrating the city's vibrant food scene. 70% sold before gates even opened.
Community Screening
A community-first screening edition in collaboration with Eyethu, bringing the cozy outdoor cinema experience to a new neighbourhood. Intimate setting, big screen energy, and a crowd that made it feel like home from the very first frame.
Celebrating African stories
OMN's most ambitious format — a 3-day outdoor film festival celebrating kasi stories and African cinema. Screenings, panel discussions, and community engagement across three consecutive evenings, cementing OMN as a cultural platform, not just an events company.
Maponya Mall, Soweto
Bringing the drive-in cinema experience to the heart of Soweto at the iconic Maponya Mall. Cars lined up for a nostalgic yet modern evening, proving that drive-in culture had a very real home in Soweto.
in partnership with NFVF
A landmark moment for OMN — bringing drive-in cinema to Soweto at Elkah Stadium in partnership with the National Film and Video Foundation. Staged during a period when outdoor drive-in formats were in high demand, this event cemented OMN's credibility as an outdoor cinema operator.
Yummy Thingz · Featuring "Thando"
A special Heritage Day screening held at Yummy Thingz, featuring the film "Thando." OMN connected the legacy of June 16 with the power of storytelling through film — a deeply meaningful evening for the community.
Street Rockville, Soweto
Where it all began. On 3 August 2019, OMN hosted its very first outdoor movie night in Rockville, Soweto. A small screen, a big dream, and a community that showed up — this night sparked everything OMN has become.
